Ukhrul murder case: JAC warns against bail to accused

Ukhrul, August 10 2025: The JAC, formed in connection with the brutal murder of AS Thotshang, has issued a stern warning against any attempts to bail out the accused in the sensitive murder case until justice is fully delivered.

In a statement issued Sunday, the JAC cautioned that such a move could lead to a tremendous outcry from the public and result in untoward incidents, for which the authorities concerned would be held solely accountable.

The JAC reiterated its stand, asserting that bailing of the accused before the delivery of justice would not be tolerated by the community.

It mentioned that AS Thotshang, s/o AS Chinaongam of Tashar village, was brutally murdered by non-locals on May 22, 2025 .

In their pursuit of justice, the JAC, in collaboration with Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) and other local CSOs, had already submitted a charter of demands to the Governor of Manipur in May, the statement added.
