Skill development programme concludes

A month-long women's skill development programme organised by Assam Rifles concluded on Sunday.
The programme conducted throughout August 2024 at Sajik Tampak in Chandel district was a resounding success, according to PRTO IGAR (S); adding that it began with the launch of specialised tailoring classes designed to equip the participants with the latest skills in cutting and stitching all kinds of garments.
The programme featured a three-day candle-making workshop, teaching various techniques of decorative candle creation.
The main attraction was a baking class that offered mentorship to womeh and aspiring bakers, helping them develop skills to make delicious baked goods.
All 45 participants agreed on the importance of financial independence for women to contribute to societal growth, said the PRO in a release.
