Tharoilok villagers meet company commander

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Indian Army, on Tuesday organised 'A Day with Company Commander' for residents of Tharoilok village in Churachandpur district under the theme 'Resilience and Renewal: Empowering Remote Villages' to strengthen the bond between the Indian Armed Forces and local communities.
In release, PRO Defence informed that 70 villagers participated in the interactive session that included a prologue to Kargil Vijay Diwas and its gallant stories, followed by a tree plantation drive during which 75 saplings of various species were planted by the villagers.
Moreover, an Army doctor conducted medical check-up of the visitors, the PRO said, adding that the villagers were assured of support in healthcare, education and development projects for overall wellbeing of the community.
