Tharoilok villagers meet company commander

Imphal, July 09 2024: Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Indian Army, on Tuesday organised 'A Day with Company Commander' for residents of Tharoilok village in Churachandpur district under the theme 'Resilience and Renewal: Empowering Remote Villages' to strengthen the bond between the Indian Armed Forces and local communities.

In release, PRO Defence informed that 70 villagers participated in the interactive session that included a prologue to Kargil Vijay Diwas and its gallant stories, followed by a tree plantation drive during which 75 saplings of various species were planted by the villagers.

Moreover, an Army doctor conducted medical check-up of the visitors, the PRO said, adding that the villagers were assured of support in healthcare, education and development projects for overall wellbeing of the community.
