Noney, July 06 2021: Noney Battalion under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) distributed Masks and Essential commodities to needy Orphan/Children staying at Hope Children Home today at Khumj Part IV in Noney district today.

Assam Rifles have always been known as the 'Friends of the Hill People' and have always been on the forefront toVeach out and assist the needy persons.

In continuation of helping hands, Noney Battalion distributed masks and essential commodities to 12 children staying in the Hope Children Home orphanage at Khumji Part IV, Noney with an endeavour to enable to protect them from second wave of COVID 19 and meet their daily needs, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.

A small lecture was also delivered to the children to motivate them to pursue their studies and achieve the aim of becoming an honourable citizen of the Nation and disseminate the Government's various advisories on aspects of follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), by wearing of mask, maintaining of social distancing and importance of COVID vaccination.

Adequate COVID-19 protection measures were followed during the event, added the statement.
