Monetary aid provided to auto drivers and rickshaw pullers

Imphal, June 28 2021: In view of the hardships faced by the auto drivers and rickshaw pullers of the Singjamei Assembly Constituency amid the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic in the State, the New Development Organisation Singjamei (NDOS) extended financial assistance and provided essential commodities to auto drivers and rickshaw pullers of Singjamei AC yesterday.

The assistance was given to around 81 beneficiaries under the theme- 'For the Needy, Corona is Just a Pandemic, The Worry is Food' sponsored by Oinam Romen Singh, the intending candidate from Singjamei AC in the upcoming State Assembly Election.

The distribution programme was carried out in three different places viz Ward No 15, L6 and 17 .

Distributing the aid to the beneficiaries, O Romen Singh said that he took up the initiative to help the auto drivers and rickshaw pullers to help in alleviating the hardships faced by them due to restrictions imposed by the State thereby depriving them of their regular source of income.

He continued that he has also extended help to van drivers of the constituency earlier and stated that his initiatives are taken up on humanitarian grounds, and not for any political gains.

The beneficiaries and the local populace thanked him for his noble juncture amid this crucial phase of the pandemic.
