Missing man found injured, dies in hospital

Imphal, July 16 2024: A 45-year old man, who went missing since Monday morning, died at RIMS hospital after he was found severely injured and brought to the hospital for treatment on Monday night.

The victim has been identified as Merangir Mechek Chiru, son of Someng Mechek Chiru of Kangchup Chiru village.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

The body has been kept at RIMS morgue for post mortem examination.

Interacting with the media at RIMS morgue, his wife Jatakpon Mechek Chiru said that her husband went out of home on Monday around 8.30 am.

As he did not returned till late evening, the villagers organised a search party and found him severely injured, possibly due to assault, around 8.30 pm.

He was rushed to RIMS hospital but succumbed to injuries, she said.

Condemning the assault on her husband that claimed his life, she appealed to the government to find out the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

She also said that the family will not claim the body until they get justice.
