Imphal, July 06 2021: The Coordination Committee on Disturbance Free Educational Zone Demand organised a webinar in connection with the 14th Disturbance Free Education Zone Demand Day 2021 under the theme 'Impact of COVID-19 on Education and Challenges in Teaching Learning Process, yesterday.

A press release issued by the Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) said that the programme was moderated by All Manipur College Teachers Association (AMCTA) president, Associate Professor Moirangthem Lokendro Singh.

According to DESAM, the resolutions taken in the programme included making online classes regular and mandatory; evaluation of the conduct of online classes; fixing the time and pattern of the online classes in consideration to the standard and level of the students and to carry out a sensitization campaign on online classes among others.

The committee also resolved to urge the Government to broadcast educational/academic videos on different media platforms such as Radio, Cable TV etc and to provide smartphones by identifying students who cannot afford it.

It also appealed to the internet service providers to ensure problems such as poor internet speed doesn't crop up that will hinder online classes.
