Imphal, August 03 2025: Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) will observe the 21st Students' Martyrdom Day-2025 on August 16 in honour of the sacrifice made by 'Athouba' Pebam Chittaranjan on August 15, 2004 during a protest against imposition of the pro-military AFSPA, 1958 .

In a release, MSF president Hijam Roshan informed that the observance will begin with invocation at the Kwakeithel office of MSF, followed by floral tributes to Chittaranjan's statue installed at Students' Martyrdom Complex, Thanilkhun in Bishnupur district and Bishnupur Keithel where the student activist self-immolated.

Floral tribute ceremony will also be held at TYC Club, Kwakeithel Takhellambam Leikai after which a mass silent rally will be carried out under the banner 'AF$PA, 1958 must be repealed from entire Manipur', from TYC Club till Imphal College, where a public meeting will be held to demand repeal of black laws, including AFSPA, 1958, from Northeast region, he added.
