Anti-drug awareness campaign organised

Thoubal, March 03 2025:
The district administration in collaboration with District Social Welfare Office and Zonal Education Office, Thoubal jointly organised a one -day awareness programme on menace of drug abuse at Athokpam High School, and Sophia English School.
The campaign at Athokpam High School was participated by around 210 students, who also carried out a poster campaign in the school.
Resource persons and dignitaries, including Phajaton and Oken Naoriya, who is senior counsellor of IRCA Thoubal, delivered speeches relatea to implementation of Na-sha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in the district, de-addiction centre and substance abuse.
It may be mentioned that Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is an ambitious programme launched by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on August 15,2020 to make India a drug-free nation.
As part of the campaign District Social Welfare Office in collaboration with different organisations and departments is conducting various awareness programmes in schools and local clubs to educate the public, youth and children in particular, on harmful effect of substance abuse.
