Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed his best wishes to the people of Manipur while attending the Sangai Festival 2022 today.
He attended a cultural event of the Manipur Sangai Festival at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre, Palace Compound.
Speaking as chief guest, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Chouhan said Manipur is a beautiful place with fine weather, cuisines and many talented sports persons.
He said Madhya Pradesh is similar to Manipur in many ways.
Many students of Manipur are pursuing their education in Madhya Pradesh.
The Madhya Pradesh Government will take good care of the Manipuri students, he said.
Chouhan appreciated 'far-sighted' vision of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and his initiatives to take the State towards new heights of development.
He expressed his hopefulness that Manipur would become one of the best tourism destinations in India in the coming years under the leadership of N Biren Singh.
Chouhan also invited the people of Manipur to visit his State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, while delivering his speech, stated that the Central leaders who had visited the State to attend the Sangai Festival praised the people of the State for their hospitality and discipline.
The leaders were also amazed with the beauty of the State, he added.
The Chief Minister informed that Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and DoNER G Kishan Reddy, touched by the beauty of the Sangai Ethnic Park, has assured to provide financial assistance of Rs 100 crore to further beautify the park and the Sagol Kangjei statue at Marjing.
He has asked the State Government to submit a proposal for the same, informed N Biren Singh.
With the support of the people, the State is progressing in every field, he said adding his Government is committed to bringing development and welfare.
He said that Central leaders are always giving the necessary support to the State for various development works.
Cultural dance performances by different cultural troupes and artistes from within and outside the State were the main highlights of the cultural evening.
