Polling teams dispersed to various places

Bpr/Ccp/Kpi, February 27 2022: Polling officials and security personnel detailed for duty in the 6 Assembly Constituencies of Bishnupur district for the first phase of 12th Manipur Assembly Election 2022 to be conducted on February 28 were dispersed from New Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur today.

Altogether 1,85, 223 (1,81,715 as per our Correspondent) voters of Bishnupur district will cast their votes across the 234 polling stations on Monday to decide the fate of 22 candidates.

It may be mentioned that Moirang AC has the maximum voters with 39876 electors while Kumbi AC has the least electors standing at 22984 .

Out of the 234 polling stations in the district, 17 have been classified as sensitive, 49 as critical & vulnerable and 168 as normal.

12 polling stations have been designated as model polling stations while 50 polling stations will be managed exclusively by women including armed security personnel.

A total of 1170 polling personnel, 31 Sector Magistrate, 2700 armed security personnel and 1200 unarmed were deployed for election duty.

In addition to the entire District Election Officials teams, 5 election observers comprising 2 General Observers, 2 Expenditure Observers and a Police Observer are stationed in the district to ensure smooth conduct of the whole election process.

CHURACHANDPUR
Even as polling officials detailed for duty in Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election 2022 were dispersed today, the District Election Officer/DC Pawan Yadav has urged all eligible voters of the Districts to exercise their franchise and ensure free and fair election.

The DEO said that all preparations have been made to ensure smooth conduct of the election and urged all concerned to extend maximum cooperation in order to make the election a mega festival of democracy.

He stated that without leaving anything to chance, the District authority has made maximum efforts since the past few months for the success of this election.

"However, the election will not be a success unless the people, particularly eligible voters, turn up to cast their votes", said the DEO while appealing to all eligible voters of the Districts to come out in large numbers and cast their votes.

He mentioned that a mechanism has been put in place to avoid unwanted incidents while adding that security arrangements for all polling stations in the districts are in place.

"Live webcasting will be done in all polling stations", he said.

Six ACs of Churachandpur and Pherzawl Districts will go to the polls on February 28.Polling officials and security personnel detailed for duty in 6 Assembly Constituencies of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts were dispersed today from the Peace Ground here.

The two districts have 358 polling stations.

A total of 1432 polling personnel, 71 micro-observers and 39 sector officers were appointed for the smooth conduct of the election.

118 polling stations will be manned by women personnel.

These include 7 in 57-Henglep, 82 in 58-Churachandpur and 29 in 59-Saikot ACs.

Polling station at B Vengnom (59/49) under Saikot AC will be manned by PwD personnel.

As a part of the first phase of polling, 211605 voters of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts will decide the fate of 34 candidates on February 28 .

KANGPOKPI
Polling and security personnel deployed for duty in the 3 ACs of Kangpokpi District for the first phase of the Manipur Assembly Elections, 2022 were dispersed today.

Polling parties, micro observers, sector officers and security personnel in respect of the 3 ACs were dispersed from Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi district.

A total of 1,00,351 voters of the district will decide the political fate of 17 candidates tomorrow.

Three candidates namely former Minister Nemcha Kipgen (BJP), Ngamkhohen Kipgen (INC) and Soshim Gurung (JD-U) are contesting in 50-Kangpokpi (Gen) AC.

Haokholet Kipgen (Independent), Lamtinthang Haokip (INC), Ngamthang Haokip (BJP), L Johny Gangmei (JD-U), K Lhouvum (NPP) and Th Sanglou Maram (Independent) are in the fray in 51-Saitu (ST) AC.

In 46-Saikul (ST) AC, Kenn Raikhan (Independent), Chungkhokai Doungel (Independent), Ch Ajang Khongsai (JD-U), Yamthong Haokip (BJP), Jamchinlen Lunkim (RPI), Kimneo Haokip Hangshing (KPA), Seikholal Haokip (NPP) and Lhingkim Haokip (INC) are contesting in the first phase tomorrow.
