Imphal, June 09 2024:
Chairperson of Taragi Cheisu Khaidem Mani has accused the Governments at the Centre and the State of not putting in any sincere effort to resolve the protracted crisis in Manipur.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club today, Kh Mani said that the Kuki militants doing whatever they fancy along the National Highways is a sure sign of lawlessness in the State.
Saying that Chin Kuki MLAs, on the other hand, have been demanding a separate administration for the people they represent, he added that some sections of Kuki people attacking the Meetei civilians instead of engaging in a talk with the Centre and the State Government is unfortunate.

It is unfortunate that both the Governments are still unable to restore normalcy in Manipur which has been on the boil since May 3, 2023, he added.
He also stated that some people in Jiribam have even expressed their desire for the border district to be part of Assam if they are going to suffer more staying as Manipuris.
Kh Mani urged the Centre and the State Government to work out a solution to the crisis in Manipur as soon as possible to redress the sufferings of the people.
