NMC serves show cause notice on JNIMS

The National Medical Commission (Under Graduate Medical Education Board) has served a show cause notice on Dean/Principal, JNIMS .
According to the show cause notice served on May 7, 2025, experts nominated for evaluating the Annual Declaration Form as per UG-MSR-2023 and MSMER 2023, video recording of examination and AEBAS Report of faculty attendance of last one year have observed several deficiencies with respect to JNIMS.
17 out of 19 departments are deficient in faculty/resi-dent/tutor as per AEBAS record data.
The departments suffering from faculty/resident/tutor deficiency are Anatomy, Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, General Medicine, Microbiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Psychiatry and Radio-Diagnosis.
The notice said that OPD attendance is inadequate; bed occupancy is inadequate; cadavers data is not available; Histopathology data is inadequate; major, minor and emergency surgery data is not given; major OT and minor OT data are not given; total family adopted for family adoption programme is inadequate and in some subjects, details of examiners and their CVs are not given and video are not opening for examination.
The notice then directed the Dean/Principal, JNIMS to submit a written clarification on each deficiency observed by the experts not later than seven days' time.
In case, this opportunity is not availed, it will be presumed that the college does not have any clarification to furnish and no further opportunity will be given and a decision as deemed fit shall be taken by UGMEB .
