Imphal, November 06 2022: Ex-MLA Salam Joy reportedly hit a two-wheeler (Honda Activa) with his four-wheeler (Toyota Fortuner) and sped away.

The incident happened at around 11 pm yesterday between Hiyangthang and Samurou along Mayai Lambi.

The former MLA of Wangoi AC first hit one Sarangthem Anilkumar who came on the Honda Active and Anilkumar sustained injuries but the former MLA sped away towards Imphal without stopping his vehicle. As some people who were present at the scene chased Salam Joy, he reportedly hit three other vehicles.

Later, the people managed to round up Salam Joy at Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai.

As the people raised an uproar there, Salam Joy sustained injuries and his vehicle was also damaged.

Nonetheless, a team of Imphal West district police who rushed to the spot on receiving information about the incident managed to bring the situation under control, sources informed.

According to the sources, a case has been registered at Wangoi police station in connection with the incident.
