Imphal, September 05 2024:
Ministers and MLAs of the ruling parties today held a meeting and deliberated on the protracted violent crisis and the unfolding situation.
However, as many as 16 MLAs were not present at the meeting presided by Chief Minister N Biren.
The meeting began at 1 pm at the Chief Minister's Secretariat and it went on till around 3 pm .
Apart from Kuki Ministers and MLAs, many MLAs elected from the valley were also not present at the meeting.
The meeting deliberated on the violent crisis which erupted on May 3, 2023 and the current situation in the State.
However the meeting could not adopt any concrete decision as many MLAs were absent.
Yet, the meeting agreed to hold another round of meeting in the next couple of days.
The meeting noted that the Security Advisor has achieved very little in terms of containing the violence even though he is the Chairman of the Unified Command.
As such, the MLAs and the Ministers agreed to exert strong pressure on the Centre to reinstate the Chief Minister as the Chairman of the Unified Command.
They also agreed to go to Delhi and exert pressure on the Government of India so as to bring an end to the protracted crisis.
