Two private health clinics, namely Imphal Hospital and Langol Hospital have been reportedly closed from today following the inability of the authorities of the two hospitals to meet the 'huge' monetary demand of a proscribed underground organisation.
Speaking to the press, Sp of Imphal West, Clay Khongsai said that the extortion notes were served by City Meitei of the KCP.

According to information received from Imphal Hospital, the health clinic has been shut from this morning although the patients admitted to the hospital earlier are still being taken care of in their respective wards.
The functioning of the OPD has also been stopped from today.
As for Langol Hospital, a signboard inscribed with 'Closed Today' hung from the gate of the Hospital greeted the people.
On the other hand, an attendant of Shanti Hospital located at Sanakeithel under Lamphel Police Station was admitted to RIMS Hospital for treatment after he sustained bullet injuries following an attack at the Hospital by unidentified gunmen at around 10 pm yesterday, according to police source.
The injured attendant has been identified as S Abon Kom of Moirang Thangsongyang.
He sustained bullet injuries on his left shoulder and leg.
The unidentified gunmen reportedly attacked the hospital firing several rounds.
