Allegations galore in Andro AC

NCP candidate in Andro AC Mongjam Jiten and his agent Chingakham Samarendra have alleged that the concerned RO refused to accept a complaint filed by them against casting of votes by rival Trinamool Congress candidate Th Shyamkumar and his supporters after impersonating dead persons and individuals who were outside the State at the time of polling.
Speaking to media persons this afternoon, Jiten and Samarendra alleged that Th Shyamkumar and his supporters did not allow inner agents of all other candidates except their own in some polling stations.
Taking advantage of the absence of inner agents of other candidates/parties, Trinamool Congress supporters cast proxy votes impersonating dead persons and individuals who were outside the State.
This has been clearly testified by the report that photographs taken in three polling stations including Shyamkumar's home polling station have come out blank.
In the same manner, Trinamool Congress supporters cast proxy votes in 12 polling stations of Andro AC, they asserted.
"To lodge a complaint against such wide spread malpractices, we went to the RO's office twice", Jiten and Samarendra said.
Whereas the RO was not found in his office, his staff refused to receive the complaint.
the complaint was sent through post office as a registered letter but the RO refused to accept the complaint letter, conveyed the NCP candidate adding that the matter would be taken to Court.
INC candidate denies: Indian National Congress candidate in Andro Assembly Constituency Alhaj Ahmad Ali dismissed contention by the Trinamool Congress nominee in the same assembly segment that mis-match detected during photo comparison of the voters was due to technical error of the camera or lack of skill in the use of the camera by the polling personnel.
Speaking to newspersons at Hatta Golapati today, during which INC's election committee co-convenor Md Imran Shah was also present, Alhaj categorically rejected Trinamool Congress candidate Th Shyamkumar and his election agent Zakir Hussein's claim that the Returning Officer concerned had intimated all the candidates to state their respective viewpoints on the issue of technical error and lack of skill in using the camera by the polling personnel.
Reacting to the rival's statement that the RO concerned informed the matter through the telephone, he said any relevant information should have been conveyed in an official manner and not through the telephone as had been claimed by Shyamkumar and his election agent.
The latter duo had reportedly asserted that with the exception of Trinamool Congress and CPI representatives no other political party deposed before the RO concerned inspite of being informed on January 29 about a joint meeting to deliberate on the issue.
Alhaj and Md Imran pointed out that out of 93.9 percent polling recorded in Andro AC, image of only one voter was found captured from the total of 680 electors who cast votes in 7/14 polling station of the constituency while the rest turned out to be blank.
For 7/13 and 7/25 polling stations, out of which the latter is Shyamkumar's home polling station and polled 91.9 percent of votes, not a single photograph of the voters could be captured thereby suggesting that the Trinamool Congress candidate colluded with the RO concerned to manipulate the official record, alleged the INC nominee.
Alhaj and Md Imran further contended that even after election Th Shyamkumar and his supporters had been instigating the public through the public address system to create communal division in the assembly constituency which have substantial population of three communities.
Use of loud-speakers and holding meetings on February 15 at Yambem, Poireikonjin and Angtha areas are themselves violation of election code of conduct, which is still in force, said the two and opined that misconduct of the Trinamool Congress candidate is a fit case for his own disqualification.
