No work no pay rule will be applied to the striking Government employees if their strike is not called off.
This was stated by the Advisor to the Governor K Kipgen while talking to this reporter today.
The Advisor said no work no pay rule would be invoked against the striking employees, while responding to a question on steps taken to bring an amicable solution to the cease-work strike called by the JAC of government employees and Manipur Secretariat Services Association.
The strikers are demanding among others cancellation of the Government order slashing house rent and transport allowance.
The Advisor�s threat followed an unsuccessful talk between a delegation of the JAC and the Government yesterday.
He said putting governance on the right track tops the list of priorities of the President�s Rule administration.
�We are concentrating on providing a clean and effective administration,� Kipgen said.
Meanwhile, the other Advisor EN Rammohan said the State requires 10 additional battalions of central Para-military forces to maintain the law and order.
If 10more battalions are provided Imphal-Moreh, Imphal-Jiri and Imphal �Mao routes could be protected, he said.
Talking to this reporter Rammohan said after the withdrawal of three BSF battalions from Churachandpur militancy activity is on the rise in the district, he said.
Stressing the need to have a better coordination between the police and the BSF the advisor described the new Director General of Police as a competent police officer.
The Advisor, who is in charge of Home Yesterday visited Saikul, which is witnessing escalating militant activities.
He said that police strength at the area would be augmented.
He is also planning to visit other police station to assess the present condition.

He also said teachers posted at hill schools are not attending their classes although they are drawing their salaries regularly.
He said that the first step towards improving performance of Government schools is to ensure regular attendance of teachers and regular classes.
When asked about the alleged misappropriation of more than Rs 20 lakhs in the Health Department, the advisor said he is looking into the files and everything will clear up within the next few days.
