The indefinite pen down strike launched by the employees of the Postal Services in Manipur has been temporarily suspended from today with the withdrawal of the illegal order of the Director of Postal Service Manipur Division, Mr.George Ninan.
According to a press statement issued by the Division Secretary of All India Postal Employees Union P � III Manipur Branch.
Mr.N Gojendra, the strike was suspended in the interest of the students and general public of the state temporarily.
However, the demand of transfer of the Director of Postal Services Manipur Division, Mr.George Ninan will remain unchanged, the statement added.
It may be mentioned here that the casework strike came into force since June 2 demanding immediate transfer of Mr.George Ninan from Manipur for his alleged" high-handedness and dictatorial attitude." The Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West Dist, Mr.H Imocha and Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, Mr.S Dinokumar were also present during the final round of discussion between the striking employees leaders of the postal Department Manipur Division and the Director, Mr.George in the latter's official chamber today.
The employees of the postal service also tanked the cooperation extended by the two state government officers in bringing about an amicable solution.
