AMSU gears up for Hunger Marchers' Day

The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has started due preparations for this year's edition of the Hunger Marchers' Day.
Speaking about the commemorative event which would be held on August 27 and 28, AMSU president Sanasam Subhaschandra informed that an observation committee has been constituted for the 51st Hunger Marchers' Day.
The committee would launch a poster and sticker campaign from tomorrow.
The committee would visit schools and launch a mobilisation campaign from August 8 .
The Hunger Marchers' memorial tomb located at Pishum Chinga Macha is being renovated for the commemorative function, Subhaschandra said.
After paying tributes to the student martyrs at Pishum Chinga Macha, a mass procession would be taken out from Pishum Chinga Macha to DM College campus where a public meeting would be held which would also feature a mega blood donation campaign.
As a part of the commemorative function, a workshop on "Peaceful co-existence among ethnic people of Manipur" would be held at Centenary Hall, Manipur University in the third week of August, Subhaschandra said.
He then appealed to all the organisations not to call bandhs or blockades on these days.
