MEELAL appeals not to call bandh on Aug 3

Imphal, July 30 2025: Informing that the 19th state level Meetei Mayek competition will be conducted on August 3, Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEEIAL) appealed to CSOs and organisations concerned not to call any bandh or blockade on the said day.

In a release, publicity secretary S.Arun Meetei said MEELAL has been striving for further development of the indigenous language and script including conduct of Meetei Mayek competition for students every year.

Informing that that the 19th Meetei Mayek competition will be held from 11 am to 1.30 pm in ten categories from Class I to X, the secretary said winners in each of the category would be awarded Rs 5,000, second position achievers Rs 4,000 and third placed competitions Rs 3,000 along with certificate and memento.

Ten consolation prize winners will also receive Rs 1,000 along with certificate and memento.

The last date for form submission will be July 30, it informed.
