Imphal, May 29 2021:
Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) welcomed the Chief Minister's initiative of conducting mass testing in the State.
In a press release, MSF said that such an initiative is for the welfare of the people and it will help in detecting the Covid cases and help in containing the spread of the pandemic thereby providing appropriate treatments accordingly. The student body stated that Covid testing is most of the important precautionary measures against COVID however many private hospitals charge the rate of RT-PCR/TrueNat as per then-wish and it poses a major block in Covid testing since many are unable to afford such tests.
Also the rate of RT-PCR/ TrueNat is comparatively higher in private hospitals than Government hospitals therefore MSF urged the authorities concerned to take up measures to increase the testing facility in Govt hospitals.
Further it appealed to the Government to reduce the rates of RT-PCR/TrueNat and take up measures for mass testing at the earliest for effective management of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
