Prior permission must for bridge, road jobs: PWD

Imphal, January 25 2025: Public Works Department (PWD) has notified that individual/society/organisation wishing to undertake activities pertaining to construction of bridges/minor bridges/culverts on roads or across water channels connecting roads under the jurisdiction of PWD, Manipur must obtain prior permission from the competent authority of PWD Manipur.

In a release, PWD chief engineer N Subhash directed that all bridge/minor bridge/culvert construction works taken up without any prior permission must cease immediately.

Any individual/society/organisation found engaged in such unauthorised construction activities will be held responsible for any untoward incidents and necessary steps for action under the relevant provisions of law will be taken up against them, he cautioned.
