Assam Rifles observed World Day Against Child Labour to raise awareness about the plight of child labourers worldwide, underscoring the importance of a healthy childhood, and combat child labour practices.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the event attended by 137 children and mothers from Aibol Joupi, Kovang, and Sehlon villages, focused on the critical need to safe-guard childhood and promote education.
Through a motivational lecture, Assam Rifles educated the villagers about the significance of eradicating child labour and its detrimental effects on children's physical and emotional development.
The troopers also emphasised the role of education in breaking the cycle of exploitation, fostering cognitive development, and building a promising future for children, the PRO added.
