Random Covid testing held

In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in the State, Kakching District Police led by Additional SP Kakching, Athokpam Romendro and under the supervision of SP Kakching, Victoria Yengkhom conducted random Covid testing of curfew violators at Waikhong along the Burma Sugnu Road.
Speaking on the occasion, A Romendro stated that the people loitering in public places, violating the curfew imposed by the District Administration possess a high risk of spreading the COVID-19 infection.
Athokpam Romendro also appealed to the people to stay indoors except for emergency cases and to provide their assistance in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 .
During the drive, one person was found COVID-19 positive out of the total 116 persons tested.
The random COVID-19 testing drive was participated by ASP (LO), Yumnam Joyraj; SDPO Sugnu, H Gambhi; OC Waikhong, Inspector Philem Bulbul and CDO personnel.
Meanwhile, the District Medical team and Tengnoupal District police also conducted random COVID-19 testing of 23 persons coming along the highway at Molnoi Testing Centre, Tengnoupal district.
Out of the 23 persons tested for COVID-19, .4 persons were found COVID-19 positive.
