Imphal, July 31 2021:
The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has claimed that people of Manipur are not satisfied with the way patients are treated at JNIMS and RIMS.
A press release issued by DESAM said that the chances of poor patients getting a bed at the two major Government hospitals is literally low.
It then urged the Government to look into the matter at the earliest.
DESAM also claimed that people are still facing untold difficulties in getting medical oxygen at the Government hospitals despite the setting up of a few oxygen plants.
Saying that the treatment of Covid patients is largely done by PG students, DESAM charged that senior and experienced doctors not attending to the needs of patients not only is against the ethics of medical practitioners but also a possible cause of increasing Covid mortality rate.
DESAM, on the other hand, urged the Government to release the pending honoraria of contract staff being engaged in handling Covid pandemic.
