Toubul celebrates World Tourism Day

Bishnupur, September 27 2024: With a view to uncover the tourism potentials of Toubul, Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Manipur and Administrative Committee, Toubul Gram Panchayat jointly observed World Tourism Day on the theme 'Tourism and Peace' at Panchayat Lake, Toubul on Friday.

The programme was attended by Bishnupur district programme coordinator Bungba Maibam as chief guest and IDS chairman Prof N Mohendro Singh as president while Nambol BDO Tongbram Shyamkumar and Toubul Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairman Thokchom Ningthemmani Singh were the guests of honour.

Thangjam Agro Industries managing director Thangjam Joykumar Singh also attended the event as a special guest of honour.

In their addresses, Bungba Maibam stressed the need of expert advice from academicians and experienced entrepreneurs for proper planning for efficient tapping of tourism potentials of Toubul, while Ningthemmani disclosed about discussions held with the department concerned promote the Panchayat Lake as a tourism hub.
