Grading system for HSE on cards: Chairman

Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (CoHSEM) chairman T Ojit has informed that a Committee has been constituted to look into implementation of a grading system like that of High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLCE) for Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) in 2027 .
He made the announcement at a felicitation function for meritorious students of HSE-2024, organised by St Stephen's Higher Secondary School at its Hiyangthang compus on Friday.
Ojit said that in accordance with NEP 2020, there will some changes in the question pattern and evaluation style of HSE from this academic year onwards.
Instead of being later, practical exams will be held before the theory exam, he informed, adding that a notification of the same would soon be issued.
Additionally, a Committee has been formed to look into implementing a grading system for HSE similar to that of HSLCE, and would submit a report on the same within six months.
Once the report is received and the grading system implemented, the existing position allotment system will be dissolved.
DESAM secretary general N Thoithoiba, who also attended the event, stressed the need for students to study sincerely and follow strict discipline as so to bring positive changes to the state in the future.
