Thoubal, January 21 2023: All Manipur Muslim Women's Development Organisation (AMMWDO) will observe November 21, the day its former president Sitara Begum passed away, as "Ima Sitara Begum Memorial Day" every year, as a mark of respect for her dedicated service to the people and society.

The decision was announced on Saturday by AMMWDO vice president Rukshar Choudhury on the sidelines of donating edible items to Madrasa Jamia Zahida (Nupi Madrasa) at Sora Awang Ching Wangma.

Rukshar said that as mark of respect to Ima Sitara Begum for her tireless efforts for betterment of the society and to encourage people to join social issues, the organisation resolved to dedicate November 21 to Sitara Begum.

While expressing gratitude to other organisations and individuals who have contributed for Saturday's donation programme, she appealed to all concerned to continue supporting the organisation's endeavour to bring development and promote peace in the state.
