AR observes World Humanitarian Day

In connection with the observance of World Humanitarian Day on Monday, Assam Rifles conducted a series of humanitarian activities in different parts of Manipur to reaffirm its commitment to the welfare of local populace.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) said the AR took proactive steps to enhance quality of life for New Samtal and Sehlon villagers with distribution of solar lights, combined with a career counselling programme for the youth.
Additionally, maintenance and repair of tracks and roads, damaged by heavy rains, was carried out to ensure smoother transportation and much needed relief to the residents of Sehlon.
The release continued that AR provided ration and other relief materials including sanitary napkins for women putting up in the relief camp at Mata village under Churachandpur district and organised a lecture and interaction meet for the youth at Langza village in Churachandpur district aimed at inspiring the youth for working towards a humane and compassionate world and kindle empathy for alleviating human suffering.
The lecture prioritised enlightening the youth about the aspects of World Humanitarian Day and the people involved in humanitarian assistance across the country.
A total of 45 youths attended the lecture and interacted to understand the significance of humanitarian efforts, added the PRO.
