AR organises security meet, skill training

Imphal, February 18 2025:
Assam Rifles organised a security meeting at Wanglee Company Operating Base in Kamjong district on Tuesday to apprise and discuss with the locals prevailing security situation and address the concerns of residents.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the security meeting attended by representatives of village council from several nearby villages, commenced with a welcome address by the officials of AR, followed by a concise update to the village authorities on the prevailing security situation in the region and an interactive session with the village heads, who shared their concerns regarding the current socio-political climate and its impact on regional security.
During the discussion, the security forces actively addressed the villagers' apprehensions and reassured them of their commitment to ensuring their safety.
The village authorities also pledged their full support to the security forces in all future endeavours.
On the other hand, AR conducted a 15-day skill development training in carpentry, masonry, and plumbing under its civic action programme at Sehlon, Chandel district to empower local youth and promote self-reliance.
According to the PRO, the training aims to equip young individuals with essential skills, improving their job prospects to enable them to earn a sustainable livelihood.
Experienced instructors provided comprehensive training, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to ensure participants gained confidence and expertise in their chosen trades.
During 15 day training the trainees were introduced with various technique and methods to meet the requirements in present environment.
The PRO further informed that the closing ceremony was attended by KCA, Chandel president, representatives of KIC and SDO office, Kuki Women Organisation president and village chiefs of Aibol Joupi, Sehlon, Tuitong, Kovang, Old Samtal and Hengkot villages in Chandel district.
