Many continue to distribute relief items

Several individuals and organisations continue to extend help to the general public and frontline warriors amid this grim situation of the Second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa
State Executive Member of BJP Manipur, Oinam Malesh Singh provided dinner to the inmates at Community Home Isolation Centre (CHIC) opened at Pitambara English School in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, O Malesh Singh appealed to all to get tested for COVID-19 and get vaccinated to protect oneself from the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
Further he urged all to strictly adhere to Covid guidelines issued by the Government to combat the pandemic effectively.
Meanwhile Soraisam Ongbi Kebi, State Executive Member of BJP Manipur donated relief items and extended monetary aid of Rs 20,000 to CHIC opened at Kamakhya Pemton College at Hiyangthang in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C.S Kebi said that she donated the relief items and provided monetary assistance to the CHIC with an aim to fulfil some of the requirements of the Centre.
The donated items included hand sanitizers, face masks, drinking water bottles etc.
Lamboikhongnangkhong
Uripok Apunba Lup (UAL) provided breakfast to inmates at Covid Care Centre at Lamboikhongnangkhong today.
UAL in a press release said that apart from the inmates the breakfast was also served to doctors, nurses, police and other supporting staff of the centre by a team of UAL led by its president Soram Tikendrajit Singh.
Further the Lup assured that it will continue to extend all possible help to all those affected by COVID-19 in future representing the residents of Uripok.
Patsoi
In continuation of his initiative of extending help to the residents of Patsoi Assembly Constituency during this difficult time of COVID-19 pandemic, RK Rameshwar, Managing Director of RK Fortune Developer Private Limited distributed essential items to around 990 households at Takyel Kolom Leikai and Sangaiprou in Patsoi A/C today.
The local clubs and meira paibis extended gratitude to him for his generosity and wished him success for all his future endeavours.
Heingang
General secretary of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Pangeijam Saratchandra has been distributing rice taken from his own granary and other edible items to the locals of Heingang Assembly Constituency.
Continuing such initiative, he distributed rice and othdr edible items to locals at Kairang today.
Speaking in a video release regarding the programme, P Saratchandra said that the general public have not been able to purchase the essential items due to the restrictions imposed by the State to contain the spread of the pandemic.
The general masses especially the poor and daily wage labourers are facing the brunt of the restrictions as they have been deprived of their regular source of income.
Therefore he started distributing the edible items from June 4 onwards with an aim to provide some relief to the suffering people.
Lastly he urged the Government to take up special measures for the needy and poor during this difficult time of the pandemic.
On the other hand, the Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides COVID-19 Task Force Scout Team organised an awareness campaign and distributed hand sanitizers, hand gloves and surgical masks to all the police personnel on duty at Imphal East and Imphal West district today.
The items were distributed to police personnel who were on duty at Konung Mamang, Minuthong, Lamlong Bazar, Lairikyengbam Leikai, Khongnanganikarak, Sangakpham, Kangla Gate, Ema Keithel Shamu Makhong, Singjamei Chingamathak, Singajmei Thong, Porompat, Ayangpalli Road, Waheng Leikai and Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai today, said a statement.
The distribution programme will continue in other places as well, added the statement.
