AR, army celebrate Teachers' Day

Assam Rifles celebrated Teachers' Day at St George High School, S Moljol Junior High School, Dr Calvin Academy, Khoibu Primary School, and Machi High School in Tengnoupal district on Thursday.
The event featured a series of engaging cultural performances by the students, expressing their appreciation for their teacher s guidance and support.
As part of the celebration, representatives from Assam Rifles delivered motivational speeches, encouraging students to aim high and highlighting the crucial role played by the teachers in shaping their future, said a PRO IGAR (S) press release.
It also informed that in recognition of their dedication to education, teachers were honoured with gifts and study materials distributed to the students.
The celebrations were attended by over 700 students and 100 teachers, it added.
Meanwhile, the army organised a series of events across the state to celebrate the invaluable contributions of educators and strengthen ties with local communities on the occasion of Teachers' Day 2024 .
According to PRO Defence, at the Red Shield Centre for Excellence, 'Manipur Super-50' and Primary School in Ngankhalwai in Bishnupur, students were assisted in hosting an event to honour and felicitate their teachers.
The event included recreational activities that helped cultivate a spirit of gratitude and strengthened the bond between students and educators.
Teachers were honoured by the students followed by a series of activities.
Similarly, in Zalenphai, Churachandpur district a special ceremony was held at 'The Living Water High School,' where teachers were recognised for their dedication and in addition, stationery and sports items were distributed to approximately 180 students, the PRO stated.
At Leimakhong, the Army organised a series of events to strengthen the bond between students and teachers wherein 13 teachers and 40 students from Omega English School, Leimakhong village, along with 15 teachers and 200 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya No 3, Leimakhong, actively participated in these functions.
The events included an inspiring lecture emphasising the crucial role of education and teachers in shaping the future of students.
Cultural programmes were held at both schools, featuring group dances, group songs, solo performances and mimicry, where students showcased their talents with enthusiasm, the PRO added.
