Basic psychological support programme organised

Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bishnupur district Branch on Friday organised a basic psychological support programme for the internally displaced persons staying in the relief camp at Takmu Water Sports Complex, Lashoi.
The programme was attended by senior psychiatrist Dr Soram Manikanta and IRCS Manipur chairman Narendra Ningomba.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Manikanta expressed that there is no bigger despair for a person to witness his home, built with his hard-earned money, burned to the ground.
As such, he urged for cultivating perseverance and courage like our forefathers who overcame the trauma of Seven Years' Devastation, while stating that it is cowardly for one to take their own life too lightly.
In connection with the programme, Bishnupur district administration also organised a health camp at the relief camp, which was attended by Moirang CHC MO Dr Akash Thokchom and Dr Heman Rasheshwori.
During the camp, free medicines were also distributed, a release by IRCS media coordinator Premjit Naoroibam informed.
