Imphal, February 19 2025: A baby girl likely to be 20 days old was found abandoned at the cradle point near the gate of Punya Nawa Yaiphakol State Adoption Agency (SAA) in Thangmeiband on February 11 around 8.30 pm .

In a release, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Imphal West stated that for claiming the infant by biological parents or legal guardians, if any, office of DCPU should be approached within two months.

In case of non-claim within the stipulated period, the infant shall be declared legally free for adoption by the competent authority as per Section 38 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children), Act, 2015, it added.
