AR holds security meeting, medical camp

Assam Rifles organised a security meeting at Sorde Company Operating Base in Kamjong district on Tuesday to address the locals' concern about the current security situation in their respective villages.
A total of 41 representatives from 15 village councils under area of responsibility of Sorde Company Operating Base attended the security meeting.
The event provided a comprehensive overview of the region's security situation, highlighting key challenges and measures for safety and stability.
Village heads were invited to share their perspectives and concerns on the prevailing socio-political conditions and their impact on local security, according PRO IGAR(S).
During this interactive session, the village heads articulated their worries and challenges, offering valuable insights into the ground realities faced by their communities.
Officials from Assam Rifles noted each concern and provided assurances, outlining the steps being taken to mitigate risks and enhance security, informed the PRO in a release, adding that the security meeting fostered a collaborative atmosphere, emphasised the importance of communication and cooperation between the Assam Rifles and the local community.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with district health authorities of Tengnoupal district, conducted a health checkup cum medical camp on Tuesday at Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district.
A total of 95 villagers, including women and children, were examined during the camp.
Special focus was given to counselling civilians on health, hygiene, and the prevention of seasonal and contagious diseases, said the PRO in another release.
Assam Rifles in partnership with Thongju ex-MLA Bijoy Koijam also distributed essential water purification materials at the Students' Welfare Community Hall in Thongju Pheijaleitong, Imphal East district, on Wednesday.
