Imphal, June 13 2024: A 19-year-old woman identified as Bidyaluxmi Leima, wife of W Suraj Meitei, was found dead hanging at the couple's Uyumpok Terapur residence under Sagol mang police station in Imphal East district, on Wednesday around 5.30 pm.

According to police report, Bidyaluxmi was discovered hanging from the beam of their house and immediately brought down and rushed to CHC Sagolmang, where she was declared brought dead.

Police have registered case of unnatural death and detained the husband for investigation.

Her body has been handed to the family for the last rites on completion of post mortem examination at JNIMS mortuary, the police reported added.
