FDO holds blood donation camp on Friendship Day

Imphal, August 03 2025: Marking Friendship Day, Friendship & Development Organisation (FDO), Imphal East on Sunday organised a blood donation camp at JNIMS Blood Centre.

Speaking about the initiative, FDO general secretary Yumnam Gopi informed that members of the group have been donating blood since its establishment in 2004.Except for one year during the coronavirus pandemic and in 2023 due to the ethnic conflict, members have been consistently participating in blood donation drives.

He said that the organisation conducts such camps with the belief that donating blood to someone in need can help bring about peace and development.

Despite technological advancement, blood remains the only life-saving substance that cannot be artificially manufactured, making voluntary donation all the more important, reasoned the general secretary.

Gopi affirmed that the organisation will continue to hold such drives in the future, emphasising commitment to both humanitarian service and community development.
