Kumbi SDC office set on fire, condemned

Bishnupur, September 27 2024: Unknown persons set on fire some portion of the office of Sub Deputy Collector (SDC), Kumbi around 8:50 pm Thursday.

Condemning the incident, a meeting was held at the Salankonjil residence of Kumbi MLA S Premchandra, where various resolutions were adopted.

The meeting was attended by councillors of Kumbi Municipal Council ward number 1 to 9, pradhans of five gram panchayats, up-Pradhan, members, executive members of BJP Kumbi Mandal and meira paibi leaders of the Kumbi assembly constituency.

The meeting resolved to make efforts to identify culprits involved in targeting the SDC office and initiate legal action against them.

The attendees also agreed to stage sit-in protests at the meira paibi shed, GP, KMC and Mandal offices along with raising slogans in condemnation against the act of arson.

The meeting also endorsed decision to submit a memorandum to the DC, SP, SDO and the police station concerned seeking prompt action on the matter.
