Bishnupur, May 21 2024:
Bharatiya Kishan Sangha, Manipur Prant general secretary Telem Dara Singh has stated that certain changes are visible in the field of agriculture in Kumbi area.
Telem Dara shared his observation during visit by a team of Bharatiya Kishan Sangha (BKS), Manipur Prant for inspection in Kumbi assembly constituency on Wednesday.
The team also interacted with the farmers of Wangoo Sandangkhong.
Speaking to reporters, Dara emphasised the critical role of farmers in development of the society, stating that without crop production, progress will be naturally stalled.
The primary goal of the Kishan Sangha is to bolster the country's granary, secure fair prices for agricultural produce and promote natural farming practices, he said while highlighting benefits of organic farming as they command higher prices in the market.
He also commended Kumbi MLA S Premchandra for translating the dreams and aspirations of the people of Kumbi into action, a goal that has long been cherished by the MLA.
If all MLAs follow the example of the Kumbi MLA, the state would be able to create a society that prioritises the welfare of farmers, the core objective of Kishan Sangha, he maintained.
