AR reaches out to villagers in Chandel

Imphal, May 10 2024: Assam Rifles distributed essential relief materials to the villagers of Old Samtal, Kovang, Hengkot, Phoilen, Tuitong and Sehlon, affected by violent thunderstorms on May 7 .

Devastating thunderstorms for two days in a row caused significant damage to shelters in adjacent villages, leaving a trail of health issues and habitat loss.

Assam Rifles mobilised essential food materials and resources for repairing damaged shelters and restoring the livelihoods of affected villagers.

The relief team worked diligently ensuring an equitable distribution process, reaching out to the most vulnerable sections of the population, according to a release by PRO IGAR (S) .
