Noney, February 05 2025: A group of 30 Veer Naris (war widows), accompanied by their families, visited the Tupul landslide site at Marangching village, Noney district, on Wednesday, fulfilling their longstanding desire to pay tribute at the location where their husbands made the ultimate sacrifice.

The catastrophic landslide of June 2022, caused by relentless rainfall, resulted in the loss of several dedicated soldiers and workers engaged in the Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal Mega Railway Project.

In response to the families' enduring wish to visit the site, an army unit took the initiative to arrange their visit, allowing them to pay homage to the martyrs.

During the visit, the families participated in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony and prayer meeting at the site.

They were also provided an opportunity to interact with Army personnel and local authorities, who extended emotional support and reaffirmed their commitment to assisting the Veer Naris.

The visit is not only a tribute to the fallen but also a testament to the strength and resilience of the Veer Naris.

Their presence at the site, where their husbands made the ultimate sacrifice, was a poignant moment of closure, pride, and remembrance.

The initiative by the unit reinforced the unbreakable bond between the armed forces and the families of its heroes, ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten.
