Curfew relaxed in IW from 5 am to 10 pm

Imphal, September 01 2024: In continuation of previous prohibitory order issued Saturday, Imphal West district magistrate has relaxed restriction on movement of public outside their residences from 5 am to 10 pm for all areas of Imphal West district on Monday.

In an order issued on Sunday, additional DM Shamim Ahmad Shah ordered that the relaxation shall not include gathering/sit-in-protest/rally etc., without obtaining approval of competent authority.

However, movement of persons engaged in essential services such as health, electricity, PHED, petrol pumps, schools/ colleges, municipality, press and electronic media, functioning of courts and to and fro movement of flight passengers to airport and contractor/worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Card will be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of the relaxation, it further mentioned.
