Pension distributed to differently-abled persons

Thounaojam Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust on Sunday distributed pensions to differently-abled persons at the Singjamei Kshetri Leikai residence of Kshetrimayum Padama.
Speaking on the occasion, Trust managing trustee Thounaojam Romen appealed to the public to discard the practice of apathy, disdain and discrimination towards elderly and differently-abled persons.
He also revealed that as part of charity and public welfare works, the Trust has been handing out pensions to differently-abled and senior citizens in various assembly constituencies.
However, Sunday's distribution was limited to beneficiaries of Singjamei AC, as the Trust office is located in the AC.
Th Romen also announced that the Trust will soon distribute pensions to widow above 60 years of age and senior citizens above 70 years of age.
The programme was also attended by LJP-Paswan general secretary and North East in-charge Wangkheirakpam Shirman, and Trust trustees as presidium members.
More than 100 differently-abled persons of Singjamei Kshetri Leikai area were handed out pensions during the function.
