MLA assures repairing of Sugnu-lt hai Barrage road

Kakching, October 15 2024: Sugnu MLA Kangujam Ranjit has assured that the road stretch from Sugnu bridge to Ithai Barrage will be soon be repaired under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

Speaking to this daily, MLA Ranjit confided that tender process is underway for renovation of the 23-km long road, which serves for over 20 settlements along the bank of Manipur river, with the last date for submission set for October 24 .

Pledging to commence the work immediately on completion of the tender process, he expressed hope the road repairing project would be sanctioned within the working season this year and appealed to the public to exercise patience.

It can be mentioned that villagers of Wangoo Sandangk-hong had held a protest on Monday demanding repair of the said road, which has been in a dilapidated condition for long.
