Imphal, August 03 2025: Security forces conducted search operations at two locations in Kangpokpi district on August 1 seizing 2.61 kg brown sugar, 2.88 kg opium, 140 gm cannabis (Ganja), Rs 23,110 in cash and 14 mobile phones besides arresting three persons under the NDPS Act.

As per a release by Manipur Police Control Room, the three arrested have been identified as Lhingneichong alias Hechong Hanshing (42) of Kangpokpi Ward No 9, Rebeeca Haokip of Gamgiphai and Paotinkai Khongsai of Saikho village, Saikul.

The release also informed that security forces on August 1 recovered 2.4 kg WY tablets from a Bolero pickup (MZ 01X 3200) during checking operation at motor vehicle check point at Mata village, Churachandpur district.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Chiinlunniang (39) of Vall Veng, New Lamka, was arrested by the police.
