AR holds wreath-laying ceremony

Imphal, July 10 2024: Assam Rifles conducted a wreath-laying ceremony in honour of nine soldiers who laid down their lives in the service of the nation.

According to PRO IGAR (S), On July 9, 1987, Oinam Company Operating Base of 21 Assam Rifles in Senapati district was attacked by insurgents.

Nine brave-hearts, Sub Tek Bhadur Rana, Hav Babu R Pllai Shaurya Chakra (P), Hav Arjun Kumar Rasalli, Hav Ashok Kumar Baruah, Rfn Tarkeshwar Singh Sena Medal (P), Rfn Subrta Deb Shaurya Chakra (P), Rfn Dharam Nath Tiwari, Rfn Shubhkaran Singh and Rfn Rajnath Yadav made the supreme sacrifice in protecting the Base, weapons, and equipment as they fought till their last breath.

Families of the bravehearts were also honoured in different corners of the country as a connection was made with the next of kin to honour their courage and remember the brave men, added the PRO in a release.
