Imphal, November 08 2024: Assam Rifles provided coaching to 99 candidates from Churachandpur district for the Agniveer entrance test from January to August 2024 out of which 63 cleared the written examination, and 32 passed the physical and medical tests conducted in October 2024.These 32 candidates are now undergoing training at their respective regimental centres.

Notably, six women candidates are undergoing physical training at an Assam Rifles unit, with their examination scheduled for January 2025, said PRO IGAR (S) in a release.

"In recognition of the importance of empowering these young women, Assam Rifles has taken proactive steps to offer specialised physical training to "enhance their prospects of success.

This initiative reaffirms Assam Rifles commitment to women's empowerment and its efforts to nurture future leaders," the release further said.
