AR presents water tanks, retrieves vehicle

Imphal, July 08 2024: As part of ongoing efforts to provide basic amenities and spur socio-economic development in remote villages, Assam Rifles donated plastic water tanks to Khu-ringmul village on Sunday.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) said the initiative will help households store more water and alleviate the clean water scarcity problem amid monsoons.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles responded swiftly to a distress call and successfully recovered a vehicle that had gone off-road near Songdo village in Churachandpur district and fell into a ditch which left the driver suffering minor injuries.

The village chief and driver requested urgent assistance to which an AR team with recovery vehicle was dispatched to the site, the PRO informed in another release, adding that the vehicle was retrieved after three hours of effort.
