Kakching, August 03 2025: Forest Department staff led by Kakching range forest officer (RFO) Huidrom Sundar and Wangoo Lamkhai beat officer Longjam Ramananda in collaboration with students and teachers of Green Ground Academy, Wangoo, meira paibi groups Of Wangoo Lourong Konjil Chingyang Uyung Pareng Houbi and local youth organised mass tree saplings plantation at Uyung Pareng Houbi on Sunday.

Speaking to media persons, RFO Sundar revealed that Forest Department staff came across felling of trees at Chingyang Uyung Pareng Houbi by unknown persons on July 27, who were then rounded up under the Indian Forest Act, 1927.As such, the mass tree plantation was initiated in the deforested area to protect the environment, he added.
